“Before SEAKR, I was at Google working on high altitude drones. My team – the Boulder team – was developing the autopilot software and avionics systems. The drones would provide internet and cellular service to countries that do not have the communication infrastructure like the U.S.”
Prior to Google, Mike was at Ball Aerospace for over ten years. Starting out as an Electrical Engineer and developing his skills to eventually become Senior Business Manager of the RF Electronics and Phased Array Department.
“I actually first learned about SEAKR when I was at Ball Aerospace working as a System Engineer in the Civil Business Unit. Ball has such a diversity of projects. You could work on full satellite systems, aircraft antennas, or space telescopes like the James Webb Space Telescope. I remember we were doing some work on a project with SEAKR and that’s how I learned about the company.”
Being an experienced leader in the aerospace and technology industry, Mike was one of SEAKR’s fastest hires.
“I always considered SEAKR a very reliable engineering company that produces outstanding satellite hardware. The first company I sent my resume to was SEAKR. Chad Fischer responded within hours. Another 48 hours later, I was in Conference Room 4, interviewing. It was fast and smooth. Shout out to Maggie and Amy – our HR representatives.
Mike Allen got the opportunity to meet Governor John Hickenlooper of Colorado while representing SEAKR at the 33rd annual Space Symposium in Colorado Springs.
As Mike assimilates into the SEAKR culture, he admits his favorite part of working at SEAKR is getting to know all of the SEAKRites and learning about the different space hardware products.
“SEAKR’s employees – or I guess SEAKRites as we like to say – are very knowledgeable. Our technology is incredible. We are definitely a niche in the aerospace market for satellite hardware.”
